What you may not know is what CORE can do for your business. You
can get many of your questions answered by scanning our FAQ
on e.s.s.Core.
Core can be the hub of your business daily activities while still
using your favorite contact management software, office software and accounting
package.
e.s.s core is designed to be used in the everyday operation of
your music, record, book or other intellectual property management company. It
is simple to use and yet powerful enough to keep all the needed records your
company will need to present to your accountant, publishers, artist, royalty
societies or other financially interested party. It's easy to get started, but
the best way to explain essCore is to walk you through the processes of setting
up your system.
A typical record label would begin by installing the program and
data server. Once these are installed, the administrator (we'll say its you for
now) would then setup the system to meet your individuals company needs.
Options like, shipping companies, caller attitudes in the contact management
interface, royalties and offsets, areas of sales, promotional codes for sales,
security users all are modifiable.
After you have setup your individual modifications, you would
most likely start by adding a project. The project will contain royalty earners
(artist, book writers, etc...), works of art (the songs, scripts, manuscripts)
and products (the out birth of a finished project that can be sold). You can
set up individual royalties for each of the royalty earners, setup the
royalties for mechanicals on songs, publisher and the percentage they would
earn from songs on a product and more!
Now that a product has been created, you would associate
songs/works of art to the products. The cassette has 8 songs but the CD has 12.
Publishers associated with the two extra songs not on the cassette would
receive revenue for only the sales of the CDs. As you contract with
manufactures to create and assemble the products of your company you can keep
track of them as well. When the shipment of product arrives, you can add it to
the inventory. And for "demos" select an option not to allow those "sales" to
be added to the royalties when they get calculated. You will need to associate
only those artists that are on the products and who will be due royalties from
those product sales. There are more options and flexible ways to set these
areas up so that what you might have written in your contracts can be
implemented in the system.
Now its time to create wholesalers, rack jobs, Internet stores
and so on that might purchase your products. Sales will be captured in orders
for each of the products as well as the current wholesale, retail and sales
price for each line item. These will be used for royalty calculation later. Why
capture the current prices? Because as your project ages, the price may drop or
go up. But you won't want to calculate royalties based on these changes for all
of the sales, just those sales that use the new price values. The orders can be
drop shipped to somewhere other than the ordering company or individual as well
as capturing shipping, taxes, handling, notes and other important information.
Once the order is compete, print the invoice and pick list with one button! The
values of the sales are saved, the inventory is reduced by the amount of sales
and the area of the sale is saved for reports and offsets. The employee who
made the sale, the date and time, the ship date and other information are all
saved with one click.
The wholesale and customer interfaces allow for payments,
returns, credit amounts, net terms contacts, even the time zone which displays
the current time in which that wholesaler or retailer is in are all modifiable
and flexible.
Reports that show your sales per product, per employee, per area,
per wholesaler are available. Other reports include: aging accounts, past due,
sales by product, graphic reports, returns and more!
You have worked hard so far. Sales are great, you can see what is
selling and what is not. You know how much you have of everything and where
those sales are mostly coming from. The quarter has ended and its that time of
the year you usually dread - royalty accounting time! But because you have
essCore_ir, all you do is select the royalties you want to run (artists,
projects, publishers), enter the date range and press the process button. In
seconds your ready to print the statements that would have taken you DAYS OR
WEEKS to do before! You can even save the information as a spread sheet, e-mail
or html page!
Now you know just a little about how powerful essCore_ir can be.
Why don't you take it out for a spin? Kick the tires and check the engine! We
don't mind.
